Easy Breakfast Recipes

Healthy breakfast quiche

Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day and I shared why in my gluten free coconut flour banana pancake recipe – it stems from nostalgic memories with my dad, who I spent a lot of time with in the kitchen baking up a storm and creating new recipes. We’ve been consistently meal planning this week and healthy breakfast quiche has been getting us from early morning to lunch with ease.     Continue reading “Healthy breakfast quiche” →

Self-care tips

Easy self-care tips

Self-care is a buzzword you hear everywhere. Sometimes it’s doing the easy things, like taking bubble baths (bonus if you add incense, diffuse some essential oils or burn a non-toxic candle), and sometimes it’s the harder things that we know are good for us, like making time to workout. How about some easy self-care tips so you can get started today?  Continue reading “Easy self-care tips” →

The best turkey meatball recipe

Turkey meatballs over spaghetti squash

One of our easy weeknight dinner staples is turkey meatballs over spaghetti squash. Buster is a vegetable monster and as soon as he knows I’m making spaghetti squash, he won’t leave the kitchen. He always gets the leftovers with his dinner, which makes him the happiest boy on earth. He’s very well behaved, so we had to coax him to “steal” the spaghetti squash from the plate in the picture below. Oh, the things we do for social media #dogcorruption

Taco Tuesday recipe

Healthy Taco Tuesday recipe

Tacos are one of the world’s greatest inventions, so imagine you had a healthy Taco Tuesday recipe that allowed you to partake guilt free! On my journey to become healthier and fitter (check out the recipes from my kitchen and workouts from my living room), creating healthy alternatives for my old favourites was one of the keys to my success. I couldn’t live without donuts, cookies (and more cookies), or pizza and I don’t have to!

How to overcome self-doubt

How to deal with jealousy

We’ve all met the green eyed monster at some point in our lives and when the beast rears it’s ugly head, it can make you feel anxious and inadequate. In an extremely competitive industry like authoring romance novels, it is helpful to learn how to deal with jealousy so it doesn’t affect your path to success (but these lessons can apply to essentially anyone).

How to make a budget

Easy ways to save money

Have you ever wondered about easy ways to save money? I’m a “saver” by nature and I’ve respected the value of money since I was a kid (thanks, Dad!). After I bought my first house in my early twenties and owned three before 30, people started asking me for financial tips.

How to achieve success

How to overcome failure

I’ve written about strategies to reach a goal, but what happens if you have a setback or outright failure on your journey? Spoiler alert: you probably will because life rarely (if ever) goes perfectly to plan. So, today I’m sharing my best tips for how to overcome failure and ensure you aren’t derailed for good.

How to overcome failure

How to handle rejection

Writers hear no more often than yes and learning how to handle rejection is a necessary life skill for every author, both aspiring and successful. Even after you’re published, bad reviews are a form of rejection, so it can be tough to maintain motivation. This is why I read Big Magic on repeat and anyone who creative aspirations should do the same! Other awesome books include You are a Badass, The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck (see Buster pictured with it here!), The Power of Positive Thinking, and The Power of Now.

Authentic cabbage rolls

Healthy slow cooker cabbage rolls

Cabbage rolls are a new favurite in my household because I love that you have a complete meal all wrapped up in leafy green goodness. My husband is Ukrainian and it’s a bit sacrilege that I’ve only recently learned to make healthy slow cooker cabbage rolls that you can set and forget (my favorite way to cook)! Better late than never, right?

Before you check out the recipe, head over to Instagram to see what I have in store for you next week! I’ve been slammed with conference prep the last two weeks, but I’ll be back in business next week with brand new content.  Continue reading “Healthy slow cooker cabbage rolls” →

Is coconut oil good for you

Creative ways to use coconut oil

Do you know all the creative ways to use coconut oil? It’s very trendy and I promise that I used it religiously before it was cool. If you haven’t already gone crazy for coconuts, you should reconsider! However, not all things are created equal, so ensure that you get a high quality coconut oil that you can consume (in limited quantities) and slather on your skin worry free.
