People describe Muskoka as god’s country (minus the bugs – there is nothing godly about getting 7 million mosquito and black fly bites in a weekend) and we feel fortunate to have a 125 foot slice of the shoreline all to ourselves.
James is a hobby photographer and has been taking pictures every single day because, well, practice makes perfect. Here is a recent shot of our Muskoka lake view (that’s our cottage in the background!). Check out Instagram to see the creature we found swimming in the lake with us (hint: it’s not Buster!).
Muskoka Lake View
We are heading north tonight and are excited to spend the weekend outside. The heat wave we’ve been experiencing for the last week has finally dissipated and I’m happy that we’ll be able to take Buster for a walk without melting!
In terms of my books, I have some exciting news to share: I’ll be attending an event where I will have the opportunity to pitch Sweet Redemption to literary agents live! I’ll also continue the querying process, but I can’t wait to network with agents, industry professional and other authors in person – the conference is quickly becoming my most anticipated event of the summer!
Are you a country or city person? What are you most looking forward to this summer?
James’ photography essentials
- James shoots with a fancy (and expensive) camera, but highly recommends the Canon Rebel as a great entry option
- A sturdy tripod and carrying case are crucial accessories
- If you’re often out and about on adventures like we are, you’ll also need a cleaning kit
