Illnesses can change your perspective and priorities, and I’ve learned many life lessons from cancer after seeing people I love battle the terrible disease. I learned so much from my dad, which I am always going to carry with me. If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve been introduced to Buster and my little man is also a cancer survivor. Their experiences have forever changed the trajectory of my life and taught that there are a lot of things we simply can’t control, so we must seize the things we can! Muskoka sunset
One of my favorite daily rituals is how I often end my day: on the water with James and Buster watching the Muskoka sunset at our cottage in Huntsville. It’s a meditative experience and different every time – sometimes the sky is painted in oranges and reds, and other times it’s pink and purple. Concluding the day connected to nature with my boys sets the tone for a restful sleep and ensures we start the next day feeling energized and inspired. Continue reading “Muskoka sunset”
Muskoka lake view
People describe Muskoka as god’s country (minus the bugs – there is nothing godly about getting 7 million mosquito and black fly bites in a weekend) and we feel fortunate to have a 125 foot slice of the shoreline all to ourselves. Continue reading “Muskoka lake view”

I’ve always said you don’t need air conditioning at cottages because of the glorious lake breeze, but this weekend is making me reconsider. Continue reading “10 summer BBQ tips”
Attitude of gratitude
Real talk: I’ve been feeling overwhelmed lately and finding it difficult to approach life with an attitude of gratitude. My to do list is ten miles long and I’m trying to accomplish what feels like millions of goals simultaneously (sometimes, one of my goals is making dinner, so clearly I need to follow my own meal prepping tips!). Continue reading “Attitude of gratitude”
Cottage car rides
Ah, cottage car rides. We live in Toronto, Ontario and have a cottage in Muskoka, Ontario, so we spend a lot of time in the car. The only person who is happy about being in the car for extended periods of time is our little guy: Continue reading “Cottage car rides”

Safe home remedies for your dog
Today I’m sharing my safe home remedies for your dog. James and I are experienced dog owners, and can easily recognize the symptoms of common, non-life threatening illnesses that we can safely treat at home, and we are advocates of the “wait and see” approach.
You can read more about the safe and effective home remedies we use on Buster as required to help him feel better faster (without a hefty and unnecessary vet bill), or jump to the list. Continue reading “Safe home remedies for your dog”
