My first Motivation Monday feature went live on Instagram today asking the question, why not start now? Are you following me and my hashtag #authoropwrites? Head on over and click that button, friends. I’ll be going live soon with some BIG NEWS and I don’t want you to miss it. Subscribers will also get a love note from me in their box before anyone else finds out.
I’m terrified about doing a video, especially live, but in a continuous effort to push myself, I agreed to be interviewed. I’ll be adding a countdown to my Instagram stories, and I’d love for you to be there. My momentum from the start of 2019 is still going strong and I am ready to reach my goals.
Motivation Monday: start now
Here are three tips to help you get started right now:
- Remember why you started. If you’re trying to lose weight, then a bikini body will not be enough motivation to sustain you for the long term. What about winter when you can hide in big sweaters? Your bikini body becomes much less relevant. But what if your motivation is to be healthy, strong and fit? Write it down and go back to it whenever you need to remember why you aren’t eating a chocolate sundae.
- Rely on your support network. No one is an island and reaching goals is full of challenges. Reach out to your friends when you need a reminder about how amazing you are and that you are capable of achieving your dreams. I’m lucky to live with the best husband and boxer in the world who support all of my crazy dreams.
- Start small. If you want to write a 100,000 word novel, that can feel overwhelming. But what about a 250 word page? Every book starts with a single page, so why not sit down and get that done? The first step is always the hardest, but once you achieve your first goal, it builds your confidence. Writing the next page feels less insurmountable when you know you’re capable of doing it. Before you know it, you have a chapter and then another one.
How do you kick start positive change?
